Food Hygiene (Safety) in Catering
This one day course is for students who would like to achieve a recognised qualification in Food Hygiene. It will enable you to work safely in a variety of settings and is a qualification sought by employers. You will look at food safety hazards and how to reduce these, refrigeration and chilling of foods as well as cooking and re-heating foods. You will cover the principles of safe food storage and examine the role of effective cleaning in a catering establishment.
At Havant Sixth Form College an experienced and qualified tutor will guide and support you through the course.
Who is it for?
This course is for anyone who would like to work within food preparation areas.
How will I be assessed?
You will complete an exam at the end of the course and will recieve a certificate.
How much does it cost?
The course may be free if you are unemployed or unemployed and in receipt of benefits.
